The brand I chose to look at on Twitter is Denny’s. Denny’s tweets a lot of jokes and uses popular meme formats that incorporate something about their diner. Most of their tweets do not have pictures, they do not promote new menu items, they don’t advertise their low prices and good food, or anything of this nature. Denny’s tweets are mainly all words and are always meant to be humorous. I think Denny’s just hired a meme admin and told them to make a bunch of funny tweets and memes about breakfast foods , and that this will be the whole content of their Twitter page. Tweets that make you laugh but also make you hungry and want to eat at Denny’s are Denny’s main goal.
Denny’s posts about once a week. This past week they have tweeted 9 times. They never retweet stuff and very rarely quote tweet stuff. They do, however, respond to their replies and mentions.
If I was to make a tweet for Denny’s it would look like this:
Hashbrowns are a potato that lost a fight.
This tweet would be effective because it is exactly like a lot of their tweets. They do not use hashtags or include any links. It is just a corny joke that involves a Denny’s menu item.
